Joann Ragni has been a writer, editor, writing supervisor, and teacher.

In this, her first collection of short stories and sketches, she draws upon her experience as a member of the Fiction Writing Workshop at the University of Iowa and upon the boyhood experiences of a long-timr friend and colleague, C. Garrry McKinlay.
